The healthcare AI agent that never practises medicine
Booking, preparation, coverage, forms, directions and prescription logistics are lookups and bookings, and Algomo does them from the systems your own pages already call. Anything clinical goes to a clinician, with the whole thread attached.
Get every patient to the door already prepared
The appointment that goes wrong usually went wrong before it started: the fasting rule nobody read, the referral that never arrived, the plan that did not cover it. Algomo answers those from your booking system and your own coverage checks, the same endpoints your patient portal calls, so what it tells someone at 22:00 is what your front desk would tell them at 09:00.
- Booking, rescheduling and cancellation
- Coverage checks and prior authorisation status
- Pre-visit instructions, fasting rules and paperwork
- Reminders that actually reduce the no-show
Keep the visit moving once they are through the door
A desk with a queue in front of it cannot also answer the phone. Algomo takes the arrival, the form, the car park and the language, and it does that in whatever language the patient opened the conversation in. Your team keeps the people who are standing in front of them.
- Arrival, check-in and the forms that come with it
- Wayfinding, parking and access questions
- The same answer in the patient's own language
- Cover, excess and what is payable today
Stay with them after the visit, and stop at the clinical line
Discharge instructions, refills and follow-up are logistics, and Algomo runs them end to end. A symptom, a dose or a diagnosis is not logistics: it stops there, every time, and goes to a clinician with the whole conversation attached. That boundary is enforced in the agent's tools, not left to how a question happens to be phrased.
- Repeat prescriptions and pharmacy coordination
- Discharge instructions and follow-up care plans
- Screening and preventative-care reminders
- Anything clinical handed to a clinician, with the thread
What it answers, and what it will not
Healthcare is the one industry where an agent that improvises is worse than no agent at all. Algomo is built so the boundary is a property of its tools rather than a line in a prompt, and so a patient never has to guess which side of it they are on.
Where is my appointment
The most common call any clinic takes, answered from the same booking system your desk reads, at the hour the patient actually asks.
Am I covered for this
Cover, excess, referral status and prior authorisation are lookups. Answered in the conversation, they never become a callback slot.
What do I need to do first
Fasting, medication holds, what to bring and where to park come from what you have published, so nobody arrives at the wrong door on the wrong day.
Should I take this
It does not answer. It says it does not answer, books the person who can, and sends the thread with it. No hedged paragraph, no general information disclaimer.
The 3am message
Emergency wording is matched before anything else runs, and the reply is the emergency number and nothing else. That path is tested like any other.
The record afterwards
Every turn is logged with what was read and what was said, and a handover carries that record rather than a summary of it.
Healthcare results you can measure
From the first booking to the last refill, the same agent takes the questions that fill your switchboard and the ones that decide whether a patient turns up at all.
Fewer empty chairs
A reminder that can rebook in the same message, rather than telling the patient to ring in the morning, is the difference between a moved appointment and a missed one.
A quieter switchboard
Where is my referral, am I covered, do I fast: all lookups. Answered in the conversation, they never reach a person at all.
Every language, same answer
The patient opens the conversation in their own language and the agent stays in it, from booking to discharge, without an interpreter for the logistics.
Clinicians on clinical work
The queue that reaches a clinician is the queue that needs one, and it arrives with the history already attached.
Three differences, one loop
It connects itself
Algomo discovers the endpoints your portal's own pages call. That is why a slot it offers is a slot that exists, rather than a line from a leaflet.
So its actions are real
Because it holds those endpoints, booking means the patient's real appointment, in their own session, on the system your desk is looking at.
And you run it by talking to it
New clinic, new preparation rule, a topic it must never touch: say it in plain language and the next conversation follows it.
Stop answering anything about dosages, even ours.
Done. Dosage questions now go straight to the on-call clinician.
Discovery gives it live data. Live data makes real actions safe. Plain-language control keeps the boundary yours.
Questions, answered
Safety and boundaries
**Can it give medical advice?**
No, and it is built not to try. Symptoms, doses, diagnoses and whether to start or stop a medicine all stop at the agent and go to a clinician with the conversation attached. It says so plainly rather than producing a hedged paragraph, because a hedged paragraph is still an answer.
**How do you enforce that boundary?**
The agent only holds the tools you have given it, and there is no tool that returns clinical guidance. When a question needs one, the only thing it can do is hand over. Guardrails on top of that catch the phrasings that look administrative and are not.
**What happens with an emergency message?**
Emergency wording is matched before anything else runs, and the reply is your emergency instruction and nothing else. No booking, no lookup, no attempt to assess. That path is tested the way any other path is.
**What happens when a patient needs a person?**
Your team picks up with the full conversation and the work already done attached, so nobody repeats their date of birth, their referral or their symptoms to a second person.
Patient data and compliance
**How does it read patient data?**
Anything a signed-in patient can already see in your portal, the agent reads in their own session, and only ever what that patient could read themselves. Anything only your staff can reach, we connect with you.
**Does it work with our EMR or practice management system?**
It works against whatever your website and patient portal already talk to. If a page a patient can open shows an appointment, the agent can read it. Systems reachable only from inside your network are connected with us.
**What about HIPAA and GDPR?**
Conversations belong to you. We act on your instructions, for your purposes, and patient conversations are never used to train models. Data handling, retention and region are set by you, and a data processing agreement covers the arrangement.
What it handles
**What is a healthcare AI agent?**
An agent that handles the administrative half of care: booking, rescheduling, coverage, preparation, check-in, forms, directions, refills and follow-up. Algomo does that half against your live systems. It does not diagnose, does not triage clinically and does not give medical advice.
**Can it book, move and cancel appointments?**
Yes, in the patient's own session, against your real diary. Each of those is a separate permission, so a practice that wants booking but not cancellation can have exactly that.
**Does it handle repeat prescriptions?**
It runs the logistics: checking what repeats remain, sending the request to the prescriber and telling the patient which pharmacy and when. Approving the prescription stays with the prescriber.
Setting it up
**What languages does it work in?**
It answers in whatever language the patient writes in, and stays in it for the whole thread. Consent forms and instructions go out in the same language where you have published them.
**How long does setup take?**
Minutes for the public side, because Algomo finds the endpoints your own pages call and builds its own tools to use them. You can try it against your live clinic list before a patient ever does. Anything a signed-in customer can already see on your site, the agent reads in their own session. Anything only your staff can reach, we connect with you. You build and change it from Claude Code, Codex or any other tool that speaks MCP, the open protocol AI tools use to talk to each other, or from the dashboard.
**What does it cost?**
You pick a monthly amount and it buys credits: a conversation that actually helped someone costs five, one that went nowhere costs nothing, and the amount is the most any one charge can be, so a flu-season spike never raises the bill on its own. There is no overage: run out early and you renew early, or wait for the month to turn. Every number is on [this site's pricing page](/pricing).
