# Algomo vs Chatbase

Chatbase is the closest product to ours in shape: a free plan, credits, plain-language instructions, and a frontier lab model answering. The split is where you build it, a dashboard you configure against a coding agent you already run, and what a credit pays for.

## Like for like

Every Chatbase cell was read from chatbase.co on 3 September 2026; the sources section below links each claim.

### Where Chatbase wins

Channels and the helpdesk. One Chatbase agent answers in web chat, email, voice, WhatsApp, Slack, Messenger and Instagram; ours answers in web chat on your site. It ships its own helpdesk and ticketing from the $150 tier, so a small team needs no second inbox; we do not sell a helpdesk. And its built-in actions look up orders, retrieve payments and issue refunds inside the chat, which is real work, not just answers.

### A dashboard, or the agent you already run

Chatbase is configured in its dashboard: you write procedures, it follows them step by step. Algomo is built and operated over MCP from Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT or Claude, the tool your team already pays for, and it discovers the endpoints your own pages call rather than starting from a list of sixteen integrations. Chatbase does not mention MCP anywhere on its site.

### Two kinds of credit

Both sell credits, and both have a free plan that deletes an idle agent after 14 days, which is fair parity. The difference is the top of the bill. Chatbase caps each tier and then sells more at $40 per 1,000 credits, plus $25 a month per extra agent and $99 a month to remove branding. Algomo's monthly amount buys credits and is also the most you can be charged: a conversation that actually helped someone costs five, one that went nowhere costs nothing, and there is no overage, only renewing early.

## Questions, answered

### We already have a Chatbase agent. What moves?

Nothing has to. Algomo does not import procedures; it reads what your own pages already call, so setup is a browse of your site with our extension, not a rewrite. Both are free to start, so you can run them side by side on the same site and judge.

### Chatbase's Free plan deletes our agent after 14 days idle. Does yours?

Yes, after 14 days without a conversation. A widget on a live site keeps itself alive; paid plans are never deleted for being quiet.

### We want WhatsApp too. Is that a reason to pick Chatbase?

Yes. We answer in web chat on your site and nowhere else, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If your customers mostly write on WhatsApp, Chatbase is the better buy today.
